Updates to ‘spam’ markings and customer opt-out status
Effective July 23, 2018, customers who mark emails as spam will receive only transactional messages going forward. The user’s optout status will be set to transactional only (optout – marketing), which is also known as “optout-basic.”
This change aligns spam complaint processing with our updated best practices for optout status. Previously, users who marked messages as ‘spam’ would be set to an ‘optout-all’ status, preventing them from receiving any messages, including transactional messages like receipts, password resets and shipping confirmations.
