Mobile Purchase Attribution

Measure the value of your push notifications and see which ones convert to purchases with Sailthru mobile purchase attribution.

If you’re using Sailthru to send push notifications and using our API to track purchases, then you will get an extra level of reporting which details the purchases that occurred as a result of a push.

Purchase Conversions in the Message Detail Screen

Purchase conversion information appears in the message detail screen and only shows if there are purchases attributed to the push. Refer to purchase attribution logic to see how we attribute purchases.

You’ll see your Purchase Conversion overview data after the Event Conversion data in the Message Performance section. Hover over the Purchase Conversions entry to see a hover menu. The menu contains the number of push notifications sent, the revenue per 1000 messages, and the total revenue. The values shown are the purchases attributed to a push notification from a 24-hour window.

Purchase Attribution Logic

Once you’re set up to listen for purchases, attribution works like this:

  1. A user makes a purchase.
  2. Sailthru checks against their profile to see if they received a Push notification.
  3. If they received a push notification within the attribution window, then the purchase is attributed to that notification.

As with event attribution, the last push notification sent receives the attribution.

Attribution Window

Edit settings in the Attribution window.

The default time window we use to attribute purchases to push notifications is 24 hours. If you need to change the attribution window it can be configured under Settings > General > Purchases in the Mobile platform.

Currency Support

By default, all purchases are shown in USD. We can also support other currency display such as Pounds or Euros. If you need to change currency symbol it can be configured under Settings > General > Purchases in the Mobile platform.

Purchase attribution is a Sailthru omnichannel feature and requires that your Sailthru mobile app has been linked to your Sailthru client. This is a one-time operation and can be performed by your Customer Service Manager.
