Feature Release: Customize Your Personalized Messages with Pinning

Personalization is now more flexible, customizable and easy to use with Sailthru.

Today we’re excited to announce new functionality in our Recommendation Manager tool, Pinning, which allows marketers to combine direct editorial control with Sailthru’s personalized recommendations. Pinning enables you to select a story or product and lock it into a position in a template that is otherwise powered by our Horizon Personalization Engine.


Why Pinning is Great for You

Here’s an example scenario: The products in your weekly campaign are automatically selected via Horizon personalization from a data feed of your most-viewed products. However, this week you need to seize control of the hero spot at the top of the campaign and make sure everyone sees a brand new item. Previously, you needed to edit the template code to curate your email.

Now, you can open that campaign’s feed in Recommendation Manager, drag and drop the item to the top of the list, and hit one button to “pin” it to the hero spot for your whole audience.

Template Requirements

Note that pin positioning in a template can be altered by content feed filtering and sorting functions in a template. Get more information about pinning template requirements here. If you have additional questions, please reach out to your Customer Success team member.

Pinning is now active for all Sailthru accounts. Navigate to the Data Feeds page, and next to any feed, click the rightmost ‘edit’ icon to launch Recommendation Manager. We have several exciting enhancements to the tool scheduled in the coming months – stay tuned for details!
